Do you have pain, swelling, inflammation or discomfort within your back, neck, shoulders, knees or hands? So many adults, including those of us here at Gladiator Therapeutics, can answer affirmatively, and for any number of reasons. We are always trying to better understand the current and evolving needs of our users and customers, and in recent evaluations of what types of inquiries people are making, we see so many queries surrounding the battle with arthritis. In fact, customers contact us routinely to ask about alternative and holistic therapies for arthritis.
The following from Google Trends depicts growing search interest within the United States for “arthritis” over the past five years:
Arthritis can be described relatively simply as the inflammation or swelling of one or more joints; common examples include:
- Osteoarthritis (the most common type)
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
However, did you know that more than 100 conditions fall under the category of arthritis? As a result, arthritis is quite complex, and unfortunately, there exists no cure. Treatments include everything from the conventional to the alternative, from non-invasive to surgical. Examples include medication, physical therapy, medical devices, implants and replacements, massage.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), “On average, during 2013–2015, 54.4 million (22.7%) adults had doctor-diagnosed arthritis,” and those numbers are expected to increase significantly over time:
The past, current, and future projected numbers of those suffering are…well…painful. And keep in mind, these numbers are based upon authentic doctor diagnoses and not people with random aches and pains who simply assume the cause is arthritis.
Even children can be afflicted with arthritis, but for our purposes here, we are focusing on adults. In the United States, you can see below that no state is immune from the disease; however, there are wide variations with respect to prevalence among states, which can be attributed to many environmental and demographic variables.
While so much is unknown about the causes of arthritis, we do know that women tend to be afflicted more than men.
As science and technology continue to advance within the United States, we are lucky to have many options to help alleviate the debilitating pain, swelling, and discomfort that come with arthritis. Fortunately, infrared technology has been a successful treatment tool within the medical community; while such technology has existed for a long time, not all infrared treatments are the same. The team at Gladiator Therapeutics has been involved with years of far infrared research and development, with numerous high-profile physicians, engineers, and testers working together to help find answers and provide products that work. Every day, we learn more and incorporate that knowledge into our ongoing process improvement and product development.
We are currently conducting studies that give us a lot of optimism within how we can even better leverage our proprietary patented technology to effectively treat common health issues such as arthritis and so many more. We look forward to the opportunity to publish our findings and take non-surgical, non-medicinal treatments to the next level. Please stay tuned, and check back for more news, more products, and more recovery, at the speed of light.
