How Our Elbow/Ankle Medical Device Helps You

The Gladiator MD™ Ankle/Elbow recovery device provides inflammation and pain relief for soft tissue injuries and pre- or post-surgical procedures.

Benefits

  • Reduces the need for pain medication or injections.
  • Allows for more productive physical rehabilitation due to less inflammation.
  • Increases blood flow to tissue for optimal perfusion before and after surgery.
  • Assists in healing minor tears of soft tissue and cartilage.

Ankle Injuries

  • Ankle Sprains: This is the most common type of ankle injury. It occurs when the ligaments that support the ankle stretch beyond their limits or tear. Sprains can range from mild to severe, depending on the extent of the damage.
  • Strains: Involve overstretched or torn muscles or tendons, usually from overuse or sudden force.
  • Fractures: These involve a break in one or more of the bones that make up the ankle joint. Fractures can vary from small cracks to complete breaks and often require immobilization or surgery.
  • Achilles Tendon Injuries: The Achilles tendon connects the calf muscles to the heel bone. Injuries can vary. They can include tendonitis, which is swelling of the tendon. They can also include a complete rupture, which is a tear in the tendon.
  • Tendonitis: This is the inflammation of the tendons around the ankle, often caused by overuse or repetitive stress. It can affect tendons such as the peroneal tendons or the posterior tibial tendon.
  • Bursitis: Inflammation of the bursae, small fluid-filled sacs that cushion the bones, tendons, and muscles near the joints. Bursitis in the ankle can cause pain and swelling.

Elbow Injuries

  • Tennis Elbow (Lateral Epicondylitis): This is an overuse injury causing pain on the outer part of the elbow. Common in activities that involve repetitive wrist and arm motions.
  • Golfer’s Elbow (Medial Epicondylitis): This condition is like tennis elbow. It affects the inner part of the elbow and is caused by repetitive motions. You often see it in golfers and people who grip things repeatedly.
  • Bursitis: Inflammation of the bursa, a small fluid-filled sac that helps reduce friction in the joint. Elbow bursitis can cause swelling and pain at the tip of the elbow.
  • Ulnar Collateral Ligament (UCL) Injury: Common in athletes who perform overhead throwing motions, such as baseball pitchers. It involves a tear or strain of the ligament on the inner side of the elbow.
  • Nerve Entrapment (Cubital Tunnel Syndrome): This occurs when the ulnar nerve is compressed or irritated, leading to numbness or tingling in the ring and little fingers.
  • Sprains and Strains: Similar to ankle injuries, involving ligaments and muscles.
  • Fractures: These involve a break in one or more of the bones in the elbow joint, such as the humerus, radius, or ulna. Fractures can result from falls or direct impacts.
